Weather Underground midday recap for Saturday, March 13, 2010. The main weather producer was a complex of low pressure systems that rotated in the East. These storms continued to provide widespread precipitation from the Ohio Valley through the Northeast. While much of this precipitation fell as snow, there were some reports of snow falling in New England.

Because of the slow-moving and wet nature of the storm, Flood Watches and Flood Warnings were widespread through the Northeast. The storms have dropped upwards of 2 inches in some areas over the past two days.

The storms also brought windy conditions to the Northeast that required Wind Advisories into the evening.

Meanwhile in the West, a Pacific storm continued moving eastward into the Great Basin and Northern Rockies. While the storm lost some of its moisture as it moved inland, rain and high elevation snow were common from southern Nevada through western Montana.

Winter Storm Warnings were posted for the Southern Rockies through southern Idaho.

The Northeast rose into the 40s, while the Southeast saw temperatures in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. The Northern Plains rose into the 30s and 40s, while the Northwest saw temperatures in the 40s and 50s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday have ranged from a morning low of 3 degrees at Bryce Canyon, Utah to a midday high of 85 degrees at Kingsville, Texas.
